Whey prices are rising.

From October 2026, the price of our whey protein is going up, both Isolate and Concentrate.

I wanted to explain exactly why, because I think you deserve more than an email simply telling you that our prices are increasing.

Last week I travelled down to meet with our protein manufacturer to understand what was happening.

What they explained is that this isn't unique to Natural Nutrients. It's an issue affecting the wider supplement industry, driven by what's happening within the dairy market.

Demand for whey is extremely high while supply is limited, and the price of the raw ingredient continues to rise. Our manufacturer is paying significantly more to source whey from the dairy producers, and those increases are then being passed on to brands like us.

They also told me that other brands are facing exactly the same problem, and some are already looking at reformulating their protein products to manage the increased costs.

And that's where we had a decision to make.

While I was there, I tried some of the cheaper alternatives available to us, including different protein sources that could potentially reduce what it costs us to make each bag.

One was milk protein.

For me, the difference was immediately noticeable. It had a much grittier texture and simply wasn't something I would have been happy putting into a Natural Nutrients bag.

I also tried other alternative protein formulations, including hydrolysed whey. Again, I didn't feel that changing our current formulation simply to reduce the cost was the right thing for us to do.

We could reformulate. We could use cheaper ingredients. We could potentially protect the current retail price by changing what's actually inside the bag.

But that would go against the reason I created Natural Nutrients in the first place.

We've always tried to make straightforward, high-quality supplements for people who care about what they're putting into their bodies. If we start compromising the product when ingredient prices become difficult, that doesn't mean very much.

So we're not doing it.

Our protein isn't changing.

Same whey. Same formulation. Same natural flavourings. Same quality standards.

Unfortunately, that means the price has to change.

And I want to be really clear about something else: we aren't increasing our prices because we want to make more money from each bag. Our margin will not increase at all during this change.

The increase is about allowing us to continue making the same protein, to the same standard, rather than reducing the quality to protect the price.

There is a chance that things could change in the future. If demand reduces or the dairy market settles, raw whey prices may come back down. But right now, we're being told that costs are continuing to increase month on month, with no indication yet of when that will stop.

If that situation changes, we'll review our pricing again.

For now, the new prices will come into effect from October 2026.

Until the end of September, you'll still be able to buy at today's prices.

I will also send an email out this week with the new prices.

If you're on a subscription and your next order falls after the price change, your subscription will renew at the new price automatically. If you'd rather pause or cancel it before then, that's entirely your call. No hard feelings.

I'd much rather explain all of this openly than quietly change a number on the website and hope nobody notices.

I'd also rather put the price up than put something in a Natural Nutrients bag that I don't believe is as good.
